The National Coalition, led by Iyad Allawi, rejected the calls to merge the Ministries of Education and Higher Education together, one bag.
The leader of the coalition, MP Kazem Shammari, said in a statement, "We are surprised by the launch of calls and ideas to merge the Ministries of Education and Higher Education together, on the pretext of the lack of political consensus on the nomination of any personality of the portfolio of education, this movement may be behind political goals.
Al-Shammari added that there is a political movement that is now underway for a solution that includes intensive meetings and dialogues in order to reach consensus and a political agreement on naming a minister for the Ministry of Education portfolio. "
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Education is still vacant without a minister to the day, but the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Qusay Suhail, is managed by proxy.
