Reuters) - Former US President Barack Obama has demanded the overthrow of former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to renew military support for Iraq , The New York Times reported on Monday.
"Former US President Barack Obama has demanded the overthrow of former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to renew military support to Iraq, " the newspaper said in a report .
"Obama considered that Maliki's brutal and repressive policies against Sunnis led to the emergence of ISIS in Iraq ."
The newspaper pointed out in its report that "the Iraqi Minister of Transport at the time rejected Obama's request to stop Iran's use of airspace for Iraq." Done / 25
