(BAGHDAD: Euphrates News) A deputy from the Iraqi Alliance bloc, criticized the draft law on the election of the House of Representatives, which was sent by the Council of Ministers and is being discussed in parliament.
Abdullah al-Kharbit, in a press statement, that "the law is unfortunately detailed selectively to establish the existence of political blocs and the same party that people are demonstrating against now in Tahrir Square, and elsewhere in the country."
He added that "the real change that the public wants will not come out of the womb of this political system, which people see as corrupt, because it restores in one way or another the authoritarian faces themselves."
As for the non-introduction of the law of individual elections presented by President Barham Saleh, Kharbit said that "that law seems to appear well, but in terms of content will not change the reality of anything."
He pointed out that "the origin of the correct individual election is the election of individuals, without a quota {quota}, and according to a certain geographical area, where the voter has the right to vote for several people, not one person, and sequentially, and if the first candidate achieves the necessary limit, he is the winner If he does not, he will move to the second candidate, thus pointing out that "this law will ensure that no citizen's voice is wasted."
