Deputy: Pressuring demonstrators to thwart Allawi's government
An independent deputy confirmed that the latest events and pressure on the demonstrators are to thwart the process of forming the new government headed by Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.
Independent Representative Nada Shaker Jawdat said during a special statement to PUKmedia : Given the recent events and confrontations that took place inside the demonstrations, we see that they occurred immediately after Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi was commissioned to form the government.
She added: Our interpretation of these events and meetings that took place with Allawi is that some blocs want to retain some former ministers or nominate ministers as they want and do not distress the freedom to form a government or choose ministers.
And she continued: There is a lot of pressure on Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, but he refused to do so, so some parties pressured and attacked the protesters to fan the situation towards bringing down the new government before its formation.
She said: Some parties and political groups believe that the Allawi government does not meet its requirements, because it has learned in previous governments to obtain very high concessions, so it will not accept the loss of funds and the harm to its interests.
She indicated that the political parties want their privileges from the government and Allawi refused to interfere in the formation of the ministerial cabinet, so it seemed to take to the streets and the events of all those confrontations that we see daily.
