Follow-up - and babysit - ruled an economist Raad Twigg, the impact of the closure of the Baiji refinery shortage of petroleum products in central and southern Iraq.

Said Twigg in a press statement, said that "Iraq has currently several refineries in the center and south card between (150-250) thousand barrels after it was overloaded limited in 2006," explaining that "energy filter was 597 thousand barrels and the total production (484) thousand barrels and amortization (328) thousand barrels in 2006, and is now becoming more of (860) thousand barrels and production of more than 551 thousand barrels and the total consumption of more than (509) thousand barrels per day, and with this increase in refining capacity by 44 %, given the flexibility in the domestic supply of oil derivatives, which can be remedied by any pause in the refinery, such as certain Baiji refinery in spite of its importance and productive capacity. "

He said he "can compensate for the Baiji refinery to increase the production capacity for the rest of the refineries, which operate with a capacity of less than the ability to filter and in the same proportion, as can fine tune the domestic demand is justified through media education on the rationalization and citizens' awareness of the repercussions of the stage and withstand the energy crisis."

He pointed out that "the energy situation in Iraq in the space comfortable and do not fear them and can any deficit that appeared to compensate for importing to maintain the balance of market power in Iraq."
