"Many governments are currently preparing their budgets for the next fiscal year, which is a golden opportunity to address this unfair situation for women," the IMF said in a report published on its website today.
"It will provide governments with a toolkit to start preparing gender-sensitive budgeting in order to help countries focus their resources to support women and ensure that future budgets are better prepared for them than previous budgets," he added.
He pointed out, "There are abundant examples of the disproportionate impact that women and girls bear due to the general closure policies," explaining that "one million Japanese women left the labor market when the Corona pandemic occurred, while the change was much less in the rate of men's participation in the labor market."
And in Chile, reports indicated that "76% of women stated that they spend more time doing housework since the pandemic began, while in Mexico there has been a 53% increase in emergency calls related to reporting incidents of violence against women." / End 8[/rtl]
