    On Tuesday (March 9, 2021), the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, supervised a special meeting on the ongoing preparations for drafting the Kurdistan Regional Budget Law for the year 2021, confirming the initiation of preparing a law that "takes into consideration all possibilities."
    In a statement received by  IQ NWS , the Presidency of the Government said that the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and in the presence of his deputy Qubad Talabani, supervised today a special meeting on the ongoing preparations for drafting the region's budget bill for 2021 .
    She added that discussions were held regarding the current financial situation in the region and the ongoing preparations for drafting the Kurdistan Regional Budget Law for the year 2021, as well as discussing data, expenditures and estimated revenues for the ministries .
    She added that the importance of preparing a budget bill that takes into account all the possibilities and guarantees a realistic and transparent budget based on oil and non-oil revenues in addition to the financial deficit and actual expenditures has been stressed, with the aim of enhancing transparency in public finances in the Kurdistan region .
    She indicated that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the draft federal budget law for 2021, which it is hoped that the House of Representatives will vote on it next week .
    According to the statement, the head of the regional government stressed the firm position of the Kurdistan region in order to reach a radical solution to the outstanding problems between the two sides, including the file of the region’s financial dues based on the constitution .
    Barzani expressed his hope that the Iraqi parties would welcome the initiative of the Federal Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, with the aim of reaching a final and comprehensive solution to the problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government .
