    Today, Sunday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi discussed with the Vice President, Federal Adviser and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and his accompanying delegation, the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries and means of cooperation according to common interests, and the importance of activating friendship committees between the two parliaments.
    The Media Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said, in a statement received by a copy of it, that “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received today, Sunday, the Vice President, Federal Counselor and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of members of the Swiss Parliament. ", Indicating that" during the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland and means of cooperation according to common interests, the importance of activating friendship committees between the two parliaments, and emphasizing the continuation of joint political action, through the Memorandum of Understanding for the political consultations that were signed between the two countries. "
    The statement added, "The meeting discussed cooperation in the field of economy and investment, and urged Swiss companies to work in Iraq and create job opportunities and employ youth, as well as cooperation in the humanitarian field with regard to the issue of the displaced and returning them to their regions as steps that enhance the efforts to achieve stability in the country," explaining "The meeting also touched on the regional and international situation, and emphasized the importance of dialogue to achieve security and stability."
    For his part, the Swiss Vice President expressed his country's "desire to strengthen relations with Iraq and expand the horizons of cooperation in all fields, in order to achieve development and prosperity," noting "the importance of supporting Iraq in enhancing its security and stability, as it is an important part of the region's security."
