Ministry of Agriculture spokesman Hamid Al-Nayef said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that the Minister of Agriculture Muhammad Karim Al-Khafaji chaired a meeting of the opinion committee in the ministry to discuss strategic plans for the development of the agricultural sector, in the presence of agents, advisors and general managers of the ministry's departments and companies, as well as the head of the General Union For agricultural associations.
He added, "Al-Khafaji stressed at the beginning of the meeting the ministry’s interest in implementing its strategic plans in developing the agricultural sector and its two parts, both plant and animal, as well as his emphasis on advancing the administrative and executive work of all departments and formations of the ministry in order to speed up the completion of orders and move away from the bureaucracy by reducing the administrative routine that Constitutes a burden on the state and the citizen. "
According to the statement, Al-Khafaji stressed, "the necessity to implement the directives of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, regarding the general directors related to the field presence in Dhi Qar Governorate, in order to identify the problems and obstacles that the governorate's farmers suffer in order to overcome them through possible means of support for the agricultural process in Dhi Qar." Al-Khafaji pointed to "the importance of promoting the poultry sector by increasing local production and finding local treatments for poultry producers in order to continue the production process."
