A member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Ghaleb Muhammad Ali, revealed, on Monday (May 31, 2021), the reason for postponing the vote on the amendment of the National Oil Company law, during the parliament session held yesterday, Sunday.

Ali said in a statement to IQ News , "The postponement of the vote on amending the law of the National Oil Company, during the last parliament session, is not due to political differences, there are no such differences at all, but there are observations and (technical) proposals submitted by the Iraqi government, work is being done." It must be added to it before voting on the amendment.

And he indicated that "the vote on amending the law of the National Oil Company, will be present during the upcoming parliament sessions, after the amendments and additions according to what the government wants, and there are no political differences, but rather there is a parliamentary insistence on passing the amendment, and the parliamentary majority is present to support this trend."

The House of Representatives was scheduled to vote, in its session last Saturday, on the draft law on the first amendment to the Iraqi National Oil Company Law No. (4) of 2018, but it was postponed.
