Baghdad - Mawazine News,
Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, stated that the Al-Faw refinery project will be implemented with funding from the Chinese government and accommodate the employment of 10,000 local workers. next September.
Abdul-Jabbar said, according to state media, that "the assignment of the FAO refinery project to the Chinese company (CNCEC) comes after Iraq received binding guarantees of financing from the Chinese state-owned SASAC Corporation, which is the second largest economy in the world."
He pointed out, "The assignment contract included important strategic issues such as clean energy, guarantees and transparency regarding support, technology transfer, and financial regulation, as well as items related to issues of the environment, employment, importing modern technologies, and training workers in specialized centers for operation, maintenance, development, and technical and engineering performance."
Abdul-Jabbar expected that "the project will enter into force soon, according to the latest technologies in refining crude oil and producing oil derivatives, plastic materials and petrochemical condensates."
And he indicated that "the refinery will contribute to employing 10,000 workers, engineers and middle-ranking staff, as well as exporting oil derivatives to the global market."
He stressed that "Iraq is targeting in its plans other investments for the leading companies in the associated and free natural gas sector and seeking to conclude contracts for infrastructure projects to escalate capacities in the production of crude oil."
Abdul-Jabbar revealed that "received offers for the establishment of electricity stations powered by alternative energy from international companies, including the French Total and major international companies, which will be announced later."
He pointed out that "the rate of Iraq's exports for the current month of July ranges between two million and 900 thousand barrels to 3 million standard barrels per day, in addition to exporting 400,000 barrels per day from the Kurdistan region to the global market."
Abdul-Jabbar announced that "the end of next September will witness the holding of the OPEC + conference in Baghdad, where preparations are being made in an optimal way to receive the guests in a manner befitting the economic occasion to ensure the participation of other countries to coordinate the stability of the oil market and discuss ways to develop and enhance the organization's activity in light of the new developments in the global oil market." ".
The minister suggested that “OPEC + will keep production cuts unchanged during another period, with the exception of a limited increase in the production of some countries, in support of price stability in an acceptable manner, despite the recovery in global demand for crude and showing an improvement in industrial performance in China, India and the United States.” Ended 29/A43
