A government move to establish a culture of “clean energy”

The Ministry of Industry plans to establish a culture of solar energy, which is the clean energy that the world is moving towards, in order to stop climate deterioration and the rise in global temperatures, due to fossil fuels, on which most countries of the world depend.
Al-Zawraa General Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, is moving to localize the solar panel industry in Iraq to meet the local need that depends mainly on imports. This approach comes in implementation of government directives and in coordination with the global trend to adopt clean energy to preserve the environment.
The Ministry of Industry plans to enter into partnerships in the solar energy sector.
The Director of Information at the Ministry of Industry, Duha Muhammad Saleh, told Al-Sabah: “The General Company for Electrical Industries has a factory that produces solar energy systems, in different categories, some for homes and others with larger capacities for government institutions,” and she added, “These systems operate with modern technology.” “And developed and maintained,” she stressed, “The company trains institutional cadres to maintain these systems with a full year guarantee.”
She continued: “The General Company for Electrical Industries produces a heater that runs on solar energy,” and revealed “a tendency to enter into partnerships to produce solar panels,” pointing out that “the Ministry of Industry has equipped the Ministry of Electricity with a complete system for producing solar energy, of very good quality.” Saleh concluded by saying: “We are continuing this project, and we will expand in the future.”
For his part, environmental expert Thaer Yousef pointed out the positive effects of clean energy, highlighting the most important benefits of solar energy.
Youssef told Al-Sabah: “Clean energy has many positive effects on the environment around us, because other types of energy release large amounts of harmful emissions that lead to global warming, air pollution, climate change, and negatively affect the Earth’s environment, in “When clean energy does not release any harmful carbon emissions,” he added, “This energy is described as environmentally friendly, and it also contributes to reducing reliance on energy sources that pollute the environment.” He stressed: “Renewable energy derived from natural resources, that is, from the wind, the sun, and movement Waves and tides are energies that have important implications for both humans and the environment.”
Youssef continued, “Clean energy is far from fossil fuels, which include oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear fuel that are used in nuclear reactors.” He explained that one of its benefits is that it “protects the environment and humans from the high percentage of carbon dioxide in the air and from emissions.” “Harmful gases that increase global warming, protect the environment and humans from harmful atomic waste resulting from nuclear power reactors, and avoid the main threats of climate change due to pollution.”
He noted that “among its benefits is that it protects people from some of the social and political dangers of fossil fuels, protects the environment and people from waste of all kinds, improves people’s livelihood and reduces poverty indirectly.”
