[size=45]The current session witnessed the absence of deputies, the postponement of the adoption of (80) laws whose first and second readings were completed, and the deportation of (56) laws of suspended and controversial laws since past sessions to the new parliamentary session.[/size]
[size=45]Member of Parliament Abbas Al-Atafi said in an interview with (Al-Mada), that "the performance of Parliament during the current session was very good at the beginning of the session, but that performance began to weaken at the end of the year 2019 approximately."[/size]
[size=45]The performance of the House of Representatives for the month of August did not include holding any session despite the announcement of the holding of the fifth session of the second legislative term for the third legislative year, which was canceled due to lack of quorum, in addition to the fact that the current month of September has reached the middle, but it did not witness the holding of any session until Today.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Atafi added, "Some political parties tried to weaken the parliament's performance by absenting themselves from the sessions," noting that "the parliament had an active role in exposing major corruption files in many ministries."[/size]

[size=45]Al-Mohsen added, "The performance of Parliament in its current session was not at the required level due to the delay in holding sessions and neglecting important laws."[/size]
[size=45]The political analyst believes that "there is no draft law during the current session that could serve the interest of the country and the citizen," noting that "most of the laws that have been enacted are for personal interests and the performance of Parliament is zero percent."[/size]
[size=45]At the end of last August, the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Al-Wafa Movement, Adnan Al-Zorfi, held the presidency of the House of Representatives responsible for the decline in parliamentary performance during the current legislative session.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Zorfi said in a statement, "The parliament's performance throughout the previous sessions was below the required level, but the current session witnessed a state of collusion between the presidency and the government that led to a decline in the legislative and oversight role."[/size]
