    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Malaysian Petronas company announced another qualitative leap by completing the K-123 well within the Al-Gharraf oil field area in Dhi Qar Governorate, as part of its continuous development plans for the field, targeting a peak production of 230 thousand barrels per day.
    During the opening ceremony, which was attended by Petronas Vice President for International Production Assets, Jacris Wahab, CEO and Head of Projects for the Middle East, Asia and Europe for Japex, Toshiyuki Hirata, in addition to Petronas Iraq President, {Norvezal Matt Saad}, "This achievement came as a confirmation of the great commitment and cooperation between Petronas and Japex." The Japanese and the North Oil Company, in addition to the continuous support and unremitting effort by the Dhi Qar Oil Company to achieve Iraq's aspirations in the field of energy."
    It is noteworthy that Malaysia's Petronas is currently investing in the Al-Gharraf oil field, the largest oil field in Dhi Qar Governorate, after signing a contract to develop the field in January 2010 in an alliance led by the Japanese company Japex.
