{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity said that energy production is facing a "cold war".
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said in a press statement: "There is a decline in water releases, whether for steam or gas stations, and this is within the cold war of water, which is more severe than the gas and fuel war, and therefore the Ministry of Electricity needs to provide these factors for success."
And he indicated, "The transformation of agricultural areas into residential areas, added burdens on the network, in addition to the abuses and losses of electrical energy, which are not calculated and unpaid and the citizen refrains from paying money for them, and therefore we need a great work even though the plan exists through the five-year plan that ensured In this way, it has developed implementable solutions, so we need government decisions to implement, in addition to the ministry’s need for the fuel plan, because the installation of stations is in vain.”
Al-Abadi added, "The ministry is proceeding with a new plan and is striving to implement it in practice. Over the next year, the ministry will undertake to add an increase in electric power from 5,000 to 7,000 megawatts, in addition to introducing new transmission lines and transformer stations that will enter service in the months of February and May." from next year."
He continued, "The ministry is also going to rehabilitate and support the distribution sector, in addition to completing a comprehensive study to proceed with the electronic collection project."
And he indicated that "the plans and strategy of the ministry in force, whether emergency or permanent, major international companies such as (General Electric, Siemens, Schneider and IBB) and Turkish and Iranian companies merge with them, so the volume of work is large in the field of electric power in Iraq."
    He pointed out that "
Al-Abadi explained that "the plans and the size of the companies working with the Ministry of Electricity are sufficient to create a promising file for energy in the sectors of production, transmission and distribution."
He pointed out that "for the energy to improve in Iraq and the continuation of the electricity supply without interruption, we need an increase in our production capacities, and what the Ministry of Electricity is striving to do in terms of periodic maintenance and emergency maintenance to complete the obstetric units, in order to be ready for the peak of winter or next summer, is not enough." , explaining that "there is a difference between supply and demand, while the supply of electricity in the country has reached 21,145 megawatts, and we need to cover Iraq with 35,000 megawatts, noting that there is an increase in demand and an increase in growth by 10% for the population, so we need to keep pace with The annual growth rate is 1,500 megawatts.
And he indicated that "with the improvement of electric power production, we need to proceed with adding generating stations and complex obstetric cycles, and installing cooling systems in our stations, and we need to drain the energy produced through transmission lines through transformational stations, and to strengthen the distribution sector, which is the biggest problem, and to address inequity Distribution between regions, and addressing the problems resulting from the destruction of infrastructure in the governorates that were occupied by the terrorist (ISIS) and were deliberately and completely destroyed.”
