{Umniah: Al Furat News} The Joint Operations Command denied that US combat forces will remain after the end of this year 2021.
And the joint operations said in a statement received by {Euphrates News} a copy of it: "We confirm that the combat forces of the international coalition will leave Iraq completely before the end of this month, and we deny what was issued by some media outlets regarding the survival of these forces."
He added, "It has been agreed between Iraq and the United States, according to the principles of the strategic dialogue and the outcomes of the recent technical teams' meetings, to transfer members of the coalition with a combat role outside Iraq and to officially announce the end of combat missions, and members of the coalition will be present in Iraq to provide support, advice and empowerment to the Iraqi security forces."
The statement continued, "Most of these forces have already left, and the rest will be evacuated in the coming days, and there will be a group of advisers to replace the previous forces, in order to support our valiant security forces."
The joint operations confirmed, "We reaffirm once again the statement issued yesterday on the outcomes of the last round of the strategic dialogue, that the presence and work of the advisers will be exclusively in accordance with Iraqi sovereignty and international laws and norms."
And the commander of the US Central Command, General Frank McKenzie, said in a press interview: "We will keep 2,500 soldiers in Iraq and warn of an increase in terrorist attacks," noting that "the escalation of violence against American and Iraqi forces may continue during the current month."
"Armed groups want all of our forces to leave Iraq, but we wouldn't leave," McKenzie added. "We withdrew from bases we didn't need in Iraq and made it difficult to reach us."
The US general stressed that "ISIS will remain a threat in Iraq and will continue to reconstitute itself, perhaps under a different name."
