Minister of Education, Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, announced today, Thursday, the activation of health units in schools to provide immediate treatment for students, stressing the imminent launch of awareness programs in coordination with the relevant authorities to enhance school health.
The Minister of Education said, during his speech at the central celebration on the occasion of the National School Health Day: “The initiative of the health unit in schools was launched as a solution to previous problems, as previously there was a health coordinator in schools whose role was limited to diagnosing cases and sending them to clinics. Now, cases are diagnosed and treated inside the school in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister’s Office.”
He added, "Each school will have a health unit that includes first aid equipment and initial treatment for students, with the aim of providing a safe educational environment."
He pointed out that "there are awareness programmes that will be implemented in coordination with the relevant authorities, including educational television, which will broadcast specialised programmes in this field soon, and
