    The Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, discussed, Sunday, during his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Ali Hamieh, the importance of opening prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, while the border crossings talked about the adoption of seven ports to work in the "transit" system.
    And the Border Ports Authority said in a statement that Al-Nour News received a copy of it (February 13, 2022), that “the meeting was attended by the head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, his deputy, the Lebanese ambassador to Iraq, the Director General of Lebanese Land and Maritime Transport, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport and the Director General of Land Transport. Iraqi".
    He added that "a number of important issues related to the field of air, sea and land transport were discussed through the transit system from Lebanon to Iraq, through Syria or Jordan."
    The head of the authority indicated that "the adoption of seven border ports that will operate in the coming days in the transit system, which are (Safwan, Al-Qaim, Arar, Trebil, Al-Mandhariyyeh, Zurbatiya, and Shalamcheh), and the process of exchange and passage of goods will certainly contribute to supporting trade and economy by encouraging cross-border trade."
    For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Transport expressed his "happiness with this meeting and the achieved understandings related to the development of joint work in all areas of public transport, through which the State of Lebanon will be able to export to Iraq and across its territory to the Arab Gulf states and vice versa."
