The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hakim Al-Zamili confirmed today, Thursday, that the current parliamentary session is serious in bringing about Iraqi industrial development, indicating that one of the priorities of the Parliament's work is the care of the industrial and agricultural sectors.
And the media office of Al-Zamili said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Zamili met with representatives of the Federation of Industries and a number of Iraqi industrialists, to discuss the problems facing the Iraqi industry and ways to overcome them, in the presence of a number of deputies and advisers."
Al-Zamili said, according to the statement, that "the Iraqi industry has been completely, intentionally and systematically destroyed, after it was subjected to a series of calamities and neglect, the continuity of the policy of opening doors for import, the lack of quality control and the failure to activate product and consumer protection laws," calling for "accelerating the activation of the Social Security Law through Awareness of its importance as the real guarantee for the worker.
Al-Zamili instructed "the formation of a working group from the House of Representatives to coordinate with the Council of Ministers, the concerned authorities and the specialized industrialists to solve problems and develop solutions for the development of the industrial sector," noting that "the current parliamentary session is serious in bringing about local industrial development, capable of absorbing these large numbers of unemployed youth." stop work, and stop wasting hard currency.
He stated, "The two most important tributaries to the country are: industry and agriculture, not oil, which suffers from daily fluctuations and cannot be relied upon," explaining, "All that the country needs are well-studied plans that are scientifically implemented."
Al-Zamili listened to "the problems faced by the private industrial sector, represented in energy and fuel quotas, and the re-support of this sector."
He pledged to "work to overcome these problems by approaching the relevant authorities or through legal legislation that includes provisions to support and advance the private sector."
