Political analyst Haider al-Moussawi confirmed, on Tuesday, that Turkey is exploiting conflicts between the federal government and the Kurdistan region to increase its military expansion inside Iraqi territory, while he was surprised by the contradictory statements of the Baghdad and Erbil governments about the Turkish attacks.
Al-Moussawi told Al-Maalouma that "the governments of Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region are contradictory in the statements and views they present, especially after the Turkish side's statement that there is coordination of military operations with the region and the center," noting that "the position of the Iraqi government is very weak and does not rise to the size and level of the operation launched by Turkey in Northern Iraq".
He added, "Before the start of the military operation, there was a visit by the President of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to Turkey, and it is possible that he had agreed with Turkish President Recep Erdogan on this operation," stressing that "Baghdad is aware of even the bombing that Turkey is carrying out against the Iraqi border areas." “.
The politician explained that "Turkey is trying to exploit the weakness in the federal government and the issue of conflicts and disputes between the region and the center to increase its military operations," noting that "Turkey's ambitions are very great in northern Iraq and is trying to annex Nineveh Governorate."
Earlier today, the former representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, had called on the federal government to expedite the accountability of Turkey for the attacks on Iraqi territory, while criticizing the parliament for ignoring these violations.
