    The Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers held the fourth meeting of the expert group concerned with evaluating and updating the Arab media action plan abroad, on Sunday, with the participation of member states, organizations and unions practicing media missions under the umbrella of the League of Arab States.
    The representative of Iraq, Dr. Sabah Alal Zayer, said that the meeting witnessed the discussion of a number of important topics, including the follow-up and implementation of the recommendations of the 14th regular session issued by the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which was held in Baghdad
    last March.
     Zayer added that the meeting dealt with the study of various aspects of the Arab media action plan regarding support for the legitimate Palestinian cause among international public opinion, especially the political, legal and intellectual elites, and how to deal with it abroad, noting that the meeting also dealt with combating terrorism and extremist conflicts, and valuing the elements of civilizational and cultural heritage.     Zayer indicated that the Arab League and representatives of Arab countries praised Iraq's proposals, especially those related to the production of a special (promo) for the Media Excellence Award, which would be broadcast on all Arab channels, pointing out that all these proposals and recommendations will be presented to the meeting of the Standing Committee for Arab Media, which will be held
    Next September.
    Zayer indicated that the Palestinian delegation had an important project in the meeting, as it presented the Palestinian Encyclopedia, which includes modifying some of the vocabulary and news terms related to the Palestinian issue that are circulated in the Arab and Western world.
    He added that the meeting discussed how to modify and correct the blurry and distorted image that the Western world has created about Arabs and Islam, indicating that those plans will be developed within the observatory and the integrated platform that it is hoped to approve later.
