Earth News/ The Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee confirmed today, Monday, that the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Agreement was not presented to Parliament, while indicating that its details and the amount of its amounts were not known.
The Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Ali Mashkour, said in an interview with Earth News, "In this fifth parliamentary session, the Oil and Energy Committee was divided into two committees, the first, the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee," which is our committee and is specialized in all matters of oil and its derivatives, indicating that “The second is the Electricity and Energy Committee, which is concerned with matters of electricity in general and the existing forms of energy.”
Mashkour added that "the details of the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Agreement were not presented to the House of Representatives in general, and we do not know its details or the amount of its exaggerations, and no one has been working on it now."
And he indicated that “the Gulf connection may solve an immediate problem for the country, but it does not solve a fundamental and rooted problem, meaning temporary and patchwork solutions,” stressing that “it was the first to be simultaneous by contracting electric power plants with a type of fuel available in Iraq, and we do not need anyone to end this.” The file that disturbed Iraq and the Iraqis.”
