    Erbil (Kurdistan 24)- Dag Moro, the official in charge of cultural, educational and media affairs at the US Consulate General in Erbil, visited the headquarters of the Kurdistan 24 satellite channel, during which he met with the director general of the channel, Ahmed Zawiti, and was briefed on the progress of the media work in the institution.
    And the US Consulate published in a statement on Facebook, that Morrow discussed a number of issues related to media work with the Director General, Ahmed Zaweti, and a number of employees of the Kurdistan 24 satellite channel, and he was also briefed on the new regulations and programs that have been implemented recently, by Zawety.
    The two sides discussed Kurdistan 24's media strategy, opportunities for cooperation and coordination between the two sides, as well as the challenges facing journalists and media institutions, according to the US Consulate.
    Moreau and Zawity stressed the importance of media professionals being able to carry out their work without pressure, fear, and discrimination, and to be able to freely deliver their media message.
    The journalist, Ahmed Al-Zawiti, began his duties as the new Director General of Kurdistan 24 Research and Media Foundation, on Monday, June 6, 2022.
    Zawiti is working on formulating a new strategy that aims to enhance the performance of Kurdistan 24 Foundation for the next phase.
    Ahmed al-Zawiti, 56, is a prominent Kurdish journalist who worked for many years in the audio-visual, print and audio media locally and internationally. He was the director of Al-Jazeera’s office in the Kurdistan Region, before he was appointed general manager of the Kurdistan 24 Foundation, headquartered in Erbil.
    Kurdistan 24 Foundation was established in late 2015, and it has a satellite TV channel and radio, as well as a website that publishes reports and news in five languages, including Arabic.
