    The General Company for the Middle Euphrates Electricity Distribution revealed, on Saturday, that it has filed legal lawsuits against more than 2,500 citizens, due to their refusal to pay electricity wages, most of them occupy positions in the government, noting that 70% of the citizens of the Middle Euphrates do not pay wages.
    The company's general manager, Jaber Muhammad Al-Taie, said in a statement reported by the official newspaper that "despite the very large increase in demand for electric power in the Middle Euphrates, 70% of the citizens there refrain from paying electricity wages, which forced the company to file legal lawsuits." On more than 2,500 citizens, most of them occupy government positions or are considered owners of capital. Electricity production.” 
     He pointed out that "the current production has reached 24,000 megawatts, while the capacity of transmission lines and distribution transformers has doubled more than 10 times," stressing that "the reality of electricity witnessed a clear improvement during the past summer in the southern provinces and the middle Euphrates (Babylon, Karbala, Diwaniyah and Najaf). 
    Al-Taie revealed that “there have been more than a thousand unemployed transformers since the year 2020 and there are no possibilities to purchase new transformers due to the lack of approval of the budget, but the company was able, with self-efforts, to import a thousand transfers from international companies by paying on credit, confirming the success of its installation within only six months, and what Work is still in progress to install additional transformers to solve the throttling problems.”
