Shafaq News / Sales of foreign remittances of dollars increased, compared to cash sales, by more than 87%, on Sunday, with the opening of the auction sessions of the Central Bank of Iraq to sell the currency.
Shafaq News agency reporter stated that the Central Bank sold today, during its auction for buying and selling the US dollar, 171 million and 603 thousand US dollars, which the bank covered at a basic exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added that 87% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of transfers and credits, amounting to 153 million and 303 thousand dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 18 million and 300 thousand dollars.
He pointed out that 23 banks have met requests for strengthening balances abroad, and 11 banks have met cash requests, in addition to 80 mediation companies.
