Today, Friday, the Ministry of Water Resources revealed its plan to store rainwater.
Hatem Hamid, a spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources, said: "There are minor torrents as a result of rain in the northern and central regions and in the rivers feeding the Great Dam and Hamrin," noting that "the amounts of water resulting from the rain are small and will increase in the coming days if the rain continues."
He added, "The rain that fell at the back of the dams will be used to enhance releases into the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, as well as to implement the winter agricultural plan, as well as release good amounts in the marshes, and improve the environment of the Shatt al-Arab."
He continued, "If the rains continue and torrents occur, part of them will be fortified in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and the other part will be directed to dams."
