On Monday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced the move towards activating the "transit" service through Baghdad International Airport.
The head of the Aviation Authority, Imad al-Asadi, said, "The Babylon and Nineveh terminals at Baghdad International Airport will be the station for the country's national carriers in carrying out transit flights in the coming period."
He pointed out that "all necessary procedures will be completed in order to improve the reality of services provided to travelers and come with the aim of serving Iraqi national carriers and travelers and developing work mechanisms at the airport."
