    Baghdad / Obelisk: Sajad Al-Khafaji
The Iraqis are celebrating the New Year 2023 after bidding farewell to 2022, which witnessed many shocking events on the economic, political and social levels.
And at the end of each year, the Iraqis see from afar an oasis of hope as they walk their bumpy path full of crises.
Their hopes to get rid of the crises soon appear after receiving a new blow that welcomes them in the new year.. In addition to that, the year 22 does not seem to want to leave without a significant trace, as it left many crises at all levels:
    -The security situation-
Although many years have passed since the declaration of victory, the security situation in the liberated areas has not yet witnessed calm, as terrorist groups are still attacking military units, in an attempt to raise the level of security tension in Iraq.
The security forces, in turn, are making efforts to eliminate the filth of terrorism in Iraq, but the nature of the areas in which sleeper cells hide makes it difficult to eliminate the remnants of the terrorist organization.
    -Economic situation-
Iraq is approaching a severe economic crisis by 2023, as the Center for Economics and Business Research in London said that the global gross domestic product will rise due to the continuous recovery from the epidemic, which means a high level of global inflation, after which it is difficult for policymakers to avoid recession.
This means that the year 2023 may witness a stagnation crisis affecting all countries, including Iraq, which suffers mainly from high unemployment rates and poor living conditions.
    -political status-
After the 2021 elections, politics in the country entered a dangerous stage, the main feature of which is the imposition of wills, as the principle of consensus between political forces that applied in the previous elections is no longer effective this time, and this crisis has not ended after the formation of the new government, as it may be chronic and reflected. Each time, negatively on the people.
    -social situation-
The level of suffering increases with the decrease in the water level in a direct relationship, as the drought crisis led to the displacement of the people of the countryside, villages and marshes, in addition to the reluctance of many farmers to work after the death of their agricultural crops and livestock.
This is accompanied by other social crises represented by poverty, murder, suicide and divorce, in addition to the suffering of the displaced families.
    -service reality-
By the year 2023, many areas are still flooded, after the rain showers that the country witnessed, due to the neglect of the water and sewage infrastructure.
Not only that, but the people suffer from poor supply of national energy, despite the promises made by the concerned authorities, so that this file turns into a dilemma and a complex that is difficult to solve.
The question is: Will Iraq get rid of its crises over the years, or is it the other way around?
Addressing this issue is not out of pessimism about the future, but rather to address the negative aspects in Iraq and confront the crises with one hand and overcome them.
