Parliamentary Education initiates the activation of the teacher protection law

In the current legislative term, the Parliamentary Education Committee begins to enact important laws such as the “Teacher Protection” law, and while it indicated that the delay in approving the budget affected the printing of school curricula, it called for allocating a budget for the Ministry of Education that is not less than what is allocated for the Ministry of Defense, as it deals with nearly 13 million students.
Committee member Tohma al-Luhaibi stated, in an interview with “Al-Sabah,” that “the committee begins this legislative chapter by activating its most important laws, which is the teacher protection law, followed by the law regulating the work of private schools, which it will put in the coming days on its table for detailed study, completion and submission for the first reading.” Inside the House of Representatives.
He added, "The problem of delaying the budget has affected the printing of school curricula, as there are no financial allocations for printing books, and the Ministry of Education has borrowed money to print books, and in the next few days, books will be distributed among schools."
He pointed out that “the delay in printing books will not be long, and we will work in the current budget that the House of Representatives is awaiting to secure allocations for printing school curricula for the next academic year, and it will be ready on time and without delay.”
Al-Luhaibi pointed out that “there are great plans for the Ministry of Education, including providing meals for students, ensuring school health, printing curricula and many paragraphs,” noting that “sufficient funds must be provided for the Ministry of Education, as it is one of the heavy-burdened ministries, and it bears a great responsibility and has more than 13 million students and needs A budget not less than that of the Ministry of Defense or any large sovereign ministry.
He explained that “among the students’ special needs is (stationery), which is borne by the students’ families, and the stationery will be among the items that the committee will demand to support the Ministry of Education to lift the burden on the families’ shoulders in school supplies,” noting that “the state is supposed to take care of all these supplies.” school stationery and other things
