The Minister of Commerce announces the opening of cooperative societies in which foodstuffs are sold at subsidized prices

{Local: Al Furat News} Minister of Commerce Atheer Al Ghurairy announced today, Sunday, the opening of cooperative societies in which foodstuffs are sold at subsidized prices during the holy month of Ramadan.
Minister Al-Ghurairy said in a statement transmitted by the official spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, and received by Al-Furat News, that "large cooperative societies will be opened in the Karkh and Al-Rusafa sides in Baghdad and the rest of the provinces, in which all foodstuffs, meat, chicken and cheese will be sold at subsidized prices and at cost."
He added, "The opening of these associations aims to support the Iraqi citizen and the poor groups and to maintain prices in the local markets on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and the directives of the Prime Minister to provide all foodstuffs to the citizens."
The Ministry of Commerce had launched a major campaign to drive trucks loaded with flour, milk, table eggs and chicken to the ministry's outlets to sell them to citizens at subsidized prices.
