The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Al-Ghurairi, announced the launch of a campaign to sell basic foodstuffs at competitive prices in all governorates.
The ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Eqtisad News, “Yesterday, Monday, the Minister of Commerce, Atheer Al-Ghurairi, chaired an operations room at the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, in the presence of Economic Agent Ghassan Farhan Hamid, to supervise the campaign to launch the sale of basic foodstuffs at competitive prices in Baghdad and the provinces.”
Minister Al-Ghurairi said, according to the statement, “The campaign will include table eggs, sugar, chicken, veal, yellow flour, tomato paste, and adult milk, which the food company will launch for sale through its sites and marketing outlets in Baghdad and the provinces, in addition to the mobile wheels that will tour all regions at competitive prices and within "The next two days."
The minister pointed out, “The purpose of operating these trucks is to confront speculators and meet the citizen’s needs for these materials.”
He continued, "This campaign will be added to the series of campaigns launched by the Ministry in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister within the Services Government Project to supply local markets and citizens with basic foodstuffs."
