Today, Monday, the head of the Diyala Movement, Ammar Shanbeh al-Tamimi, revealed the details of a "shocking" file of rampant corruption in the province.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that "corruption is one of the reasons that prompted us to demonstrate several times in Diyala, because the scourge of corruption is now devouring institutions and projects and causing severe damage in terms of the deterioration of basic services."
He added, "Two-thirds of the value specified for the projects goes to the pockets of" corrupt "from influential parties and names, and the rest is spent on their implementation, not to mention the influence of (regionalism) in the distribution of projects," pointing out that "we do not tell by the unseen, but we have documents and numbers."
He pointed out, "We pressed to meet the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, or a special committee before him, in order to inform him of the facts of what is happening in Diyala in all the details, in order to put an end to and take the necessary decisions that contribute to ending the scourge of financial corruption."
