Baghdad / Obelisk: The Federal Integrity Commission announced the issuance of an arrest warrant and an investigation against the former Minister of Transport for deliberately committing a violation of his job duties.
The Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission stated, in a statement received by Al-Masalla, that the investigation judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued an arrest and investigation order against the former Minister of Transport against the backdrop of handing over the building of the new Iraqi Ports Company to the Governorate of Basra, indicating that the governorate occupied the building without a contract.
The statement added that the arrest and investigation order issued based on the provisions of Article 331 of the Penal Code also included approaching the competent authorities to prevent the travel of the accused.
And the Integrity Commission announced earlier that the same court had issued an arrest and investigation order against the former Minister of Transport for violations that occurred in the contract concluded between the General Company for Iraqi Ports and one of the companies renting a piece of land in Al-Maqal Port, and other violations.
Article 331 of the Penal Code stipulates that any public official or person charged with a public service who willfully commits a violation of his job duties or refrains from performing one of his duties with the intention of harming the interest of an individual or with the intention of benefiting a person at the expense of another or at the expense of the state shall be punished with imprisonment and a fine or one of these two penalties. .
