The head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna al-Samarrai, received the Australian ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, at his residence in the city of Samarra.
A statement by the Azm Alliance, received by (Baghdad Today), said that "during the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations that bring together the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them to serve the interests of the two peoples, and the importance of Salah al-Din Governorate and the historical city of Samarra and ways to develop them in a way that enhances its role as a city that represents an important place in human heritage." .
The statement added, "Al-Samarrai stressed during the meeting the importance of supporting the liberated areas and promoting peace, security and coexistence there."
The statement pointed out that "the Australian ambassador expressed her country's keenness to support stability and development in Iraq in general and the liberated areas."
