The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, stressed that the population census contributes to correcting all paths of service, development and investment plans, while pointing out that it is a basic criterion for distributing resources and financial allocations between the governorates.

Al-Atwani said: We look forward to conducting the population census in all governorates of the country, including the Kurdistan Region, within the next two days, 37 years after the last census was conducted in Iraq, which will allow for raising the efficiency of the planning process, by creating modern databases provided by the census.
