Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce revealed its intention to expand food selling centers at competitive prices to cover all governorates, and talked about the most important preparations for the Ramadan season.
Undersecretary Sattar Al-Jabri said, in a statement to Al-Mada, that "there is a major positive turning point in the Ministry of Commerce, especially within the government's government program."
Al-Jabri added, "The government has worked to provide its services in terms of food support to citizens, through the food basket by delivering its items at the appropriate times, as the citizen received three food baskets, each one in a month."
He pointed out, "The ministry started preparing for the month of Ramadan early, and based on our proposal, the Council of Ministers voted to increase each Iraqi family with a layer of table eggs, 5 kg of white flour, a kg of noodles, and half a kg of starch."
Al-Jabri confirmed, "The food basket was distributed in a timely manner, four days before the start of the month of Ramadan, with the additions voted on by the Council of Ministers."
And he talked about "a decision to distribute an additional basket to the 12 baskets that are given to 5,100,000 Iraqis who are covered by social care, and it includes materials: sugar, white flour, milk, edible oil, milk and tea."
Al-Jabri concluded, "The Ministry of Commerce has achieved an important achievement by opening more than one center to sell foodstuffs at competitive prices, an experience that will be circulated in the governorates in coordination with businessmen and merchants."
