[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The Ministry of Planning confirmed its field follow-up of the implementation of the new Al-Shamiya water project in Al-Diwaniyah.
A statement by the ministry stated, “In implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, that this year will be the year of project completion, and with direct guidance and follow-up by the Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim, The specialized field follow-up teams in the ministry conducted a field visit to the new Shamiya water project in Al-Shamiya district of Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, which is one of the strategic and vital projects to provide safe drinking water for the people of the district.
He added, "The visit came with the aim of reviewing the reality of the work progress in the implementation stages of the project, diagnosing the obstacles and problems that hinder its completion, and taking the necessary measures and recommendations to address them," noting that "The project is being implemented on an area of (20) dunums and with a design capacity of (4) thousand cubic meters per hour. With a completion rate of 53%. He continued, "The project
will provide drinking water for most of the neighborhoods of the Shamiya district center and Al-Saliyah district, which contributes to improving the health and living conditions of the district's residents."
According to the statement, the Ministry called on the concerned authorities to facilitate the procedures for removing conflicts and opening the documentary credit for the processing of import materials for the project in order to complete it and bring it into service as soon as possible.
