Yesterday, Monday, the Ministry of Commerce announced that it had taken major measures to check and monitor food prices, and while it revealed a plan to create marketing outlets in all governorates and districts, it confirmed the existence of a 5-year contract with the private sector to supply the ration card.
The ministry's spokesman, Muhammad Hanoun, told the Iraqi News Agency "INA": "The aim of creating marketing outlets is to provide materials that the citizen needs at Ramadan tables, while continuing to distribute the food basket," noting that "four basic materials have been completed after being examined and delivered to the Ministry." commerce".
Hanoun pointed out that "marketing outlets are a new experience," noting that "the ministry's future plan includes expanding them in all governorates and reaching out to districts and sub-districts." He stressed, "The involvement of the private sector in the food basket, provided that it is sold at cost," pointing out that "there is a 5-year contract with the private sector to supply the ration card." He pointed out that "significant measures have been taken in checking prices and monitoring," explaining that "there are efforts to transform outlets into large associations in all cities."
