The Ministry of Commerce seeks to bring the number of food marketing outlets within its government outlets and central markets to 30 outlets at the beginning of the year 2024. The Ministry’s
official spokesman, Muthanna Jabbar Abdul Zahra, told Al-Sabah: Hundreds of food convoys have been sent to the districts. And the districts, with the opening of seven marketing outlets, including 3 in Baghdad, and four in the governorates that sell at competitive and subsidized prices to achieve price stability in the markets, indicating that seven other new outlets will be added at the end of February of next year, bringing the number to 14 marketing outlets for selling basic foodstuffs, in addition to selling Meat at competitive prices. He pointed out that the Ministry decided to open outlets on the lands of the nine central markets in Baghdad, with the exception of the sites and warehouse complexes that were subjected to sabotage of their infrastructure after 2003, and included the Salhiya Market and the Al-Shaab neighborhood, in addition to the central Al-Amel neighborhood market scheduled to open at the beginning of next year after its rehabilitation. Before specialized companies based on modern designs and including modern and advanced pavilions for selling goods and consumer goods, as well as other marketing outlets.
He stated that the number of marketing outlets will reach 30 outlets in all governorates in 2024.
