Al-Ghurairy said in a statement: "The file of the central markets was previously linked to the economic system, which was managed exclusively by the centralization of the state, and the issue is not related to rehabilitating the buildings of the markets only to restore them to work, but is related to managing the file again and with a new vision."
He added, "Today's economy is open to everyone, and there is flexibility, and on the basis of that, a move was made to invest in central markets 4 years ago, and it was referred by the National Investment Commission to a company, but it stalled in business."
He continued, "The file of the central markets has now returned to the Ministry of Commerce, and we have entered into partnerships, and a number of buildings will be rehabilitated in the coming months by the private sector, including the Al-Khilani building in Baghdad, and the change is coming in this file in order to restore life to those markets."
