Shafaq News/ The economist, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, warned, on Tuesday, of an increase in the fiscal deficit in the budget for the year 2013 in the event that oil exports from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq continue to stop.
Al-Marsoumi said in a post on social media, "Facebook", that "the continued suspension of Kurdistan's oil exports requires that Baghdad finance the salaries of the region's employees with half a billion dollars, or 650 billion dinars per month, which will exacerbate the 2023 budget deficit."

Last March, Iraq stopped 450,000 barrels per day of crude exports from the Kurdistan Region and the northern fields of Kirkuk, after the country won a long-term arbitration case against Turkey.
In a case dating back to 2014, Baghdad alleged that Turkey violated a joint agreement by allowing the KRG to export oil through a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
On Tuesday, April 4, the federal government and the regional government signed a temporary agreement between the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Natural Resources in the regional government, according to which the export of crude oil abroad from Kurdistan and Kirkuk governorate will resume, but so far the agreement has not entered into force.
In April, the official for foreign relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Sven Dizyi, visited Turkey, during which he held many meetings with Turkish officials to discuss ways to find a mechanism to resume the region's oil abroad.
An informed source told Shafaq News agency that the meetings were positive and fruitful and in the interest of everyone.
