    The Finance Committee revealed some figures for the budget for the next year 2023, amid great aspirations of the Iraqis to know the size of the budget and its numbers, especially with regard to the financial deficit, and while a preliminary figure was revealed about the size of the deficit, the real deficit may be 34% more than the figure.     A member of the Finance Committee, Mueen Al-Kadhimi, said in press statements followed by “Yass Iraq”, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Finance to complete the draft general budget law for the year 2023, for the purpose of sending it to the House of Representatives after its approval in the Council of Ministers.”
    Al-Kazemi added, "The total amount in the budget law has become 140 trillion dinars," noting that "the expected fiscal deficit in the budget amounted to 20 trillion dinars."
    He explained, "The price of a barrel of oil calculated in the budget law will be between 60-65 dollars," noting that "the Ministry of Finance will present the budget law to the Council of Ministers, for approval in the coming days."
     
    While Iraq exported 99.8 million barrels of oil per day during the month of November, with a daily export rate of 3 million and 329 thousand barrels. According to this export rate, Iraq will export next year one billion and 215 million barrels of oil.
    And while Al-Kazemi set between 60-65 dollars per barrel, Iraq’s revenues will range between 78.9-72.9 billion dollars, 106-115 trillion dinars, which means that the deficit ranges between 25-34 trillion dinars, that is, about 30 trillion dinars, meaning that the declared deficit is equivalent to 66%. Only from the expected real deficit.
