    Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian announced the resumption of the work of the Joint Water Committee with Iraq.

    Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian said in a press conference held at the Al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad on the sidelines of the third Baghdad International Water Conference, that “this visit is at the invitation of the Iraqi government to participate in the Baghdad International Water conference," noting that "this conference is distinguished and adopts distinguished goals, and we hope that it leads to positive results."

    He pointed out that "the conference has an opportunity for dialogue and convergence of views between officials, thinkers and international organizations," noting that "we are facing climate changes today and a decline in the amount of rain. More useful than that."

    He stressed that "the use of modern methods and new technologies in water consumption, irrigation and sound management of water resources would help us increase efficiency and improve conditions for citizens in terms of environment and water, after the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani began its work and conducted a lot of discussions between the Iraqi government and the government. During the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Tehran or the visit of the President of the Republic of Iraq to Tehran, in addition to that, we had three rounds with the Iraqi Minister of Water Resources. During these discussions, technical, legal and judicial issues related to the management of water resources were dealt with, and the discussions were good.
