Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, discussed today, Friday, with the Speaker of the Turkish National Assembly, parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Halbousi's office stated, in a statement, of which Mawazine News received a copy, that the latter "made today a phone call with the Speaker of the Turkish National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmus."
The statement added, "The call discussed the importance of cooperation and the continuous development of relations between the two countries, and work to strengthen them through strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parliaments, and joint work for the benefit of the two friendly neighboring peoples."
Al-Halbousi congratulated Kurtulmus "on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the Turkish National Assembly and to all members of the Assembly who won the elections, and to the Turkish people on the success of the democratic electoral process."
