Jaafari discusses with his Turkish counterpart the water crisis and the presence of Turkish troops in Iraq

Baghdad / ... met with Foreign Minister Ibrahim al - Jaafari on Saturday, with Turkish born Jawish Ihsanoglu counterpart in Ankara, the two sides discussed the progress of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ankara, and the issue of water releases to Iraq, and the presence of Turkish troops on Iraqi territory, and the overall developments in the region.
"Iraq is committed to establishing the best relations with Turkey on the basis of good neighborliness and rejecting the presence of any forces on its territory that destabilize the security and stability of the two countries and the region, while expressing appreciation for Turkey's support for Iraq in presenting Humanitarian assistance and active participation in the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq. "
He explained that "Iraq is still looking forward to the standing of friendly countries on his side, and to strengthen economic and investment cooperation, because of its significant impact in deepening relations and activating common interests."
For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu said that "his country seeks to strengthen joint cooperation with Iraq and the continuation of dialogues in the interests of the two countries, especially in the field of combating terrorism, pointing out that" the security and stability of Iraq is important for his country, At the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, and contributed five billion dollars. "
"We have provided a lot of humanitarian assistance to the displaced, and continue to support Iraq in the eradication of terrorism, and we seek to deepen brotherly relations with Iraq in various fields."
