A statement from his office, a copy of which {Euphrates News} received, stated that: "The meeting discussed developments in the Iraqi and regional arena and activating the common aspects between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples."
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Hakim blessed "the government and people of Turkey for the success of the recent elections and the active participation of the Turkish people in them as an expression of the development of the political system in Turkey and the people's interdependence with it."
He referred to the "development road as a strategic project that connects the region with each other and makes it a station between East and West," reiterating that "approving the Iraqi budget for three years will provide opportunities in the field of reconstruction and development."
Al-Hakim called on Turkish companies to "seize the opportunity and achieve mutual benefit with Iraq."
