Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari stated, on Thursday, that the rates of financial and administrative corruption within the ministry's departments have declined.
Al-Shammari said in a joint press conference he held with the governor of Al-Muthanna, Ahmed Munfi Judeh, that "the corruption file is thorny, and it needs time to eliminate it completely," adding that "we have been able to reduce corruption by a large percentage in the departments of the Ministry of Interior."

He added, "There are deterrent and firm measures against officers and associates who engage in bribery, up to expulsion from service," pointing to "the expulsion of numbers of officers and associates involved in corruption cases, in addition to their retirement."
Al-Shammari continued by saying, "We are continuing the anti-corruption campaign, and we will not stop, and the Ministry of Interior must be clean of such issues."
