Today, Wednesday (October 25, 2023), the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, revealed that dozens of officers and ranks in the ministry were fired due to corruption.
Al-Shammari said in a televised statement followed by "Baghdad Today", that "153 officers and 899 ranks were expelled from their jobs due to corruption."
He stated that "the charges issued against them are proven by evidence in the courts of the Internal Security Forces, and we are continuing to do so, and we urge the judges of these courts and the courts of cassation to fight corruption."
Al-Shammari stressed, “There is firmness and intensity in combating administrative corruption in the ministry, and this is part of the government’s approach.”
