Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs clarified the advantages of the Persons with Disabilities Care Law, while indicating that there is a proposal to increase the salary of a full-time employee.
The Ministry's spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, said, "The Law of Caring for Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs No. 38 of 2013 includes in its privileges granting a salary to a full-time helper."
He pointed out, "There are more than 220,000 citizens in Baghdad and the provinces who receive the salary of a full-time appointee, at the rate of 170,000 dinars per month."
He added, "The ministry pays special and great attention to people with special needs, so it sought to amend a paragraph with the paragraphs of the law related to salary. The proposal was to increase the salary from 170 to 260 thousand dinars, and this paragraph was submitted to the Council of Ministers to amend it in the interest of this category."
He pointed out, "There is great coordination with the relevant ministries, especially the Ministry of Health, as the ministry is working to issue an identity card for people with disabilities to benefit from in the field of health care by providing free treatment, in addition to reducing travel fares by 50% on Iraqi Airways, in addition to To granting a traffic number, whoever gets the car with a disability will be exempt from customs fees and the number.
He stated, "The number of those with disabilities who came to the electronic window has reached nearly 500,000 families, and now their cases are being presented to medical committees to reveal the percentage of disability," noting that "if the percentage of disability is from 75 percent or more, it includes the privileges of a law Caring for people with disabilities and special needs.
