    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Monday (August 21, 2023) , political analyst Ghaleb Al-Daami considered that the “final say” in Iraq’s political and strategic decisions and foreign relations rests with the US and Iranian embassies in Baghdad, according to him.
Al-Daami said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", that "the Iranian and American embassies have a great influence in Baghdad, not at the level of the country's internal decisions in conducting business, but rather political decisions with regard to strategic foreign relations," noting that "any talk other than that is illogical, These two embassies have the final say."
He added, "America is the sponsor of the current political process and it is the one who created the regime. As for Iran, it benefited from Washington's mistakes, in addition to the sectarian influence and the presence of personalities who lived in Tehran and fought the former regime, which made it influential in the political scene in many ways, in addition to the influence extending to the popular emotional level." To the extent that some Iraqis agree with Tehran's policy in Baghdad."
He pointed out that "the failure of the political class affiliated with Iran made many Iraqis not care about American or other intervention, even if it was no different from others, but the failure of the political class made the citizen not care about who comes to control Iraq just to be able to escape."
In the past few days, popular circles and the media have been abuzz with news of suspicious American movements in Iraq or on its western borders with Syria.
